Hi and welcome to Pyra Bio, Inc.

My name is Gouri Yogalingam. I was born in Kolkata, India, and grew up in New Zealand and Australia. I earned my BSc in Physiology and Pharmacology and completed my PhD training in Lysosomal Storage Diseases at the University of Adelaide, South Australia. Over the past two decades, I have worked in the USA as both an academic and industry scientist, leading preclinical research programs and authoring peer-reviewed publications, IND filings, and regulatory reports. My expertise spans successful preclinical drug development and approvals across several therapeutic areas, including neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic, musculoskeletal, and oncology indications, with a strong focus on addressing areas of high unmet medical need.

My accomplishments in drug discovery are a testament to the privilege of collaborating with extraordinary teams of industry scientists, academic researchers, clinicians and patient advocacy groups from across the globe, a rewarding experience I am fortunate to continue as a Scientific Writer and Translational Science Consultant.

I provide the following writing and consulting services remotely, or in-person in the San Francisco Bay Area:

  • Scientific writing and editing services relating to preclinical drug development from the exploratory stage through to IND filings and drug approvals. Areas of expertise include cell signaling, organelle biology, disease mechanisms, CMC, MoA, and PK/PD studies across all therapeutic areas.

  • CMC and translational science support for preclinical programs (cell and gene therapy, peptide, mAb, ERT, and small molecule therapeutics).

  • Management of projects between Industry and CRO / academic labs to accelerate early-stage pipeline programs.

  • I also provide support as a volunteer for non-profit organizations in the rare disease space, where I review grant proposals and provide preclinical research guidance for regulatory compliant, preclinical drug development.
